VISUALIZER PRO is MANSCAN®'s exploratory
data analysis and result display module. Its powerful tools enable you
to enhance, transform and extract features from EEG data and display temporal
and spatial representations of high resolution EEG with MRI images. Use
VISUALIZER PRO to discover new relationships in processed EEG data by
displaying results from the SIGNAL PROCESSOR module or from VISUALIZER
PRO's own built-in signal processing and data modeling capabilities.
VISUALIZER PRO provides the following powerful and flexible tools for
exploratory signal analysis, source modeling, 3-D graphics visualization
and EEG-MRI integration:
- Conventional Multi-channel EEG time series (X-Y)
plots arranged in a standard strip chart-like stacked displays or arranged
anatomically.
- Powerful visualization functions combining 3-D
EEG topographic color maps with 3-D MRI head or brain models. These
functions provide accurate representations of topographic information
on the scalp or cortex without the distortion associated with 2-D maps.
- Current Source Density (Laplacian) spatial sharpening
accentuates areas of greatest potential difference by estimating the
hypothetical current flow through the 3-D surface of the scalp.
- Finite element DEBLURRING,
a patented mathematical technique, reduces the distortion effects of
conduction though the skull and scalp to estimate EEG potentials as
they would appear just above the superficial cortical surface.
- Dipole Localization estimates the location and
orientation of multiple equivalent point-dipoles that are consistent
with the EEG potentials measured at the scalp. Dipoles may be viewed
against planar cuts of the subject's MRI or in a unique 3-D wedge cutout
view of the MRI image.
- Distributed Volume Current Source Imaging estimates
diffuse current fields throughout the brain that are consistent with
the EEG potentials measured at the scalp.
- Spike averaging allows you to show dipole sources
from multiple individual events or to show the dipole from the averaged
potential of all marked events.
- Display the spectral content of the EEG in the
form of a compressed spectral array (CSA). Changes in the spectral content
of the EEG are readily seen in the CSA display. You can display the
CSA at regular intervals in the EEG or display the CSA only from specific
events in the EEG.
- Characterize the spatial organization of coordinated
activity in the brain using the patented techniques of event-related
covariance and correlation. Event
related covariance and correlation
uses MANSCAN
®'s unique functional neuroanatomical model
to demonstrate the functional relationship of different brain regions
during event-related potential or epileptiform spike studies.
- Coherence displays
the synchronization of cortical activity of ongoing EEG using MANSCAN
®'s
unique neuroanatomical model display.
- Signal Synthesis. Extract spectral power in
a series of frequency bands. Recompute the signal with the inverse Fourier
transform using only a subset of the original frequency bands to extract
steady state event-related potentials.
- Feature Extraction generates numerical tables
of signal characteristics for export to other analysis programs.
- Conveniently export data into MATLAB allowing
custom signal processing. Import MATLAB data into MANSCAN
®'s
for further processing or display.
VISUALIZER PRO gives you presentation-ready images
for reports and publications. Change display properties (e.g., color,
labels, border, etc.) and annotate your data displays with a host of tools
for creating graphic and text labels. Cut and paste graphics, text, or
numerical results into spreadsheets, databases, word processors, and slide
presentation programs.
